1. We start with your electricity usage

Your Smart Meter Texas file shows when and how much electricity your home used. That history lets the report preserve your seasonal and time-of-day usage pattern instead of assuming that every home uses exactly 500, 1,000, or 2,000 kWh each month.

2. We collect current plan information

Plan availability and listing details come from the official Power to Choose marketplace. The Electricity Facts Label for each plan supplies the rate formula, base charges, bill credits, usage fees, time-of-use periods, contract length, and other material pricing rules.

3. We verify the price formula

Before a plan can enter the ranked comparison, its formula must reproduce the prices printed on its Electricity Facts Label within a small rounding allowance. The calculation must also account for every material fee and credit stated in the document. A new plan is not accepted merely because its name resembles a plan we have seen before.

4. We use current CenterPoint delivery charges

For plans that pass delivery charges through separately, customer estimates use the current independently checked CenterPoint residential delivery rate. Provider charges, credits, thresholds, and other plan-specific rules still come from the plan's Electricity Facts Label.

5. We price each month and compare equal periods

The report projects your usage pattern into future billing periods and calculates the estimated bill for each plan month by month. Plans are compared over a shared period so a short contract does not receive an automatic advantage simply because it avoids expensive summer months. Short, standard, and long contracts remain separated so you can weigh cost against renewal timing.

6. We disclose conditions and uncertainty

Bill credits, free nights, autopay requirements, new-customer rules, and other important conditions are shown with the plan. Plans that require an unsupported assumption or contain unresolved pricing terms are kept outside the ranked results rather than silently estimated.

What the result means

The report is an estimated-cost comparison based on available offers, current regulated charges, and the usage history you provide. It is not a guarantee of future savings. Weather, household behavior, taxes, regulated charges, plan availability, and future renewal prices can change.

Why Power Made Clear is independent

Power Made Clear does not accept provider commissions, enroll customers, or automatically switch service. You receive the calculations and plan details, then decide what to do next.

How your information is handled

Your uploaded meter data is removed after processing. The finished paid report is retained for 30 days so you can reopen it through your private link, and then it is automatically removed. Power Made Clear does not sell customer data.
